Extreme Cold

We have been going thru a spell of extreme cold.  It has been wind chill warnings for days.  If you go out for 10 or 15 minutes you can get frostbite.  My lungs are not good, so it is twice as hard on me.  I have to go out every day and get my mail at the Post Office.  It is a real effort to do that in this extreme cold weather.  I use a cane and need a knee replacement, maybe two so I am not so fast either.  It is supposed to finally warm up to 30 this weekend.  I can hardly wait.

More Tests

I had knee surgery to replace a bad knee and it's been almost a year now. Ever since the surgery my voice has gotten weaker and raspy to the point people can't hear me sometimes or can't understand me. I hate not being able to carry on a conversation with my friends. So tomorrow I'll go in to throat specialist and see why I can't talk out loud. The doctor said it might be mental problem too. So the neurologist will be the next stop. If I get that far maybe they can figure out why my new knee is still giving me pain and my mobility is bad too. I guess we start tomorrow and go from there to see what happens.

Leg Brace

They put a long leg brace on my leg to keep my leg straight. The muscle behind the knee was getting soft and they have to strengthen it. They only take the brace off when they do physical therapy. It is not much fun wearing this thing but if it helps me get out of here faster, it is worth it. I will be very glad when my new knee holds my weight and I can walk again and get home.

Health Care

I have been having some tests done to see if I can improve my health. I found out that I have good oxygen levels so my lungs are working good. That was good news. Now I am going to the doctor today to find out how my heart tests came out. I really could use a good knee replacement too but that is in the future. Hoping for a good report today. My brother-in-law is going in too for a checkup on his sciatic nerve pain. I wonder if he has another disc that needs surgery. Could be. Anyway it is good to keep up on your checkups and stay as healthy as you can.
