Boy is this fantastic or what. There have several opportunities on the blogging channels that haven't had anything for days. I can't sit all day like some I knoe and wait for something to appear but there really has been a dry spell for me. I'm so happy that the next one I recieve payment for won't be the last. Boy's Are Here

Well I guess I'll have to stop working for an hout or so. The guys are heading up the driveway for a couple beers and a gabfest. It really eases up the tention of the day and helps you relax too.That's not saying the beer isn't good too. We usually only have 1 or 2 apiece so nobody gets to where he needs help getting home.That's not saying much since we live in a trailor park about 50 yards from each other. Two of them are kids only middle 50's , I'm 70 and the other one is 83 so I guess we are responsable at least to a point.LOL.

I Feel Good NANANANNANA!!!

After I took another fall last week I've been hobbling around here holding on to everything to keep from doing it again. Boy does it make your back hurt. I'm healing up now and I can tell because I don't hold on to things as much. I still stagger and hurt but not as bad as before. Went to doctor this morning and the bad news was I'll probably live more than a week or two but I'll still hurt at least that long too. I guess that's life live with it.

Fair Time

Well the North Iowa fair is underway and I hope they aren't counting on my money to survive. I've gotten so tired of hot, sticky, dusty fair grounds over the years that I don't care if I ever go to another one. Of course at my age the next one may be my last one anyhow. That's why I spend my time doing things I really like to do. Some are little things like drinking a rootbeer float with my sweetie on a hot day. Mini Cooper

I've been seeing a lot of the Mini Cooper cars lately. Today I got to see one up close and personal. It was in a car lot and I got to sit in it and get the feel of it. I'm telling you they're a really neet little car and have much more room inside than I would have thought. I guess one of the biggest things is the mileage they get. It's between 35 and 40 where my Winstar does about 24 out on the road with maybe 17 in town. I've still got a couple years to pay on the winstar so I'm not ready to trade yet but I'm sure thinking about the Mini Cooper.

Lazy Day

Well when it got cool enough to get my work done I didn't feel like doing it. So guess what I'll be doing tomorrow. That's right, all the things I didn't do today and possibly more depending on how things go. I hate it when that happens but I still have to live with it. Since I'm the only one my friend can depend on I feel obligated to get it done.If she had lots of money I'd tell her to hire a professional. A Good Friend

My good friend is a World war 2 vet and is 13 years older than I am. We get along just fine. He was in a tank company under General Patton and I was in a reserve tank company. It was funny when we first talked about it but we had the same job status in the tank of assistant driver bow gunner. Both of us are widowers and live alone across the street from each other. When I get home I look over to his house and see him sitting in the window and wave him over. We sit and drink a beer and talk about the day. Ya, That's good friends.

I was outside a few minutes ago and it's getting hot and humid out there. I have weeding and yard trimming to do that I very much wish was done. Yesterday I was going to work on it when my friend said the movie Chuck And Larry is on at cinema west so we went. Older Drivers

When do you say that's enough.I saw several older drivers yesterday going down the road at 5 to 15 miles an hour. Some could barely see over the steering wheel. One older woman stopped about 4 car lengths from a stop sign and then just drove on through it and cut off the other drivers that didn't have to stop. You know how people say " she gets around really good for her age and doesn't need help ". When she gets hit and hurt or hurts someone else do you think someone will say that's enough?

Young Drivers

I suppose I was pretty much the same as the young people today when it comes to driving a car. I just don't remember there being so many accidents. I guess the invention of the cell phone probably accounts for many of them but just showing off for your friends helps too. I was traveling south on a concrete road when something told me to stop. My friend and I went to the movies for the second day in a row today. The movie playing was Chuck And Larry and it was so funny. Any movie with Adam Sandler and Kevin James has to be good and funny. Jessica Beil was the femail lead and there is nobody more beautiful than she is. I really enjoyed the movie and if you haven't seen it you should because it's intertainment at it's best.

Just Me and The Cats

Everyone left and all is quiet again. My two house cats get upset when company comes over because they don't like to share me. As soon as they all left my cats jumped in my lap for some petting. One lays on my arm and the other across my legs. I don't have to tell you I have trouble getting up when I have to. I've got them pretty well trained at that though because when i say OK the jump to the floor. Then as soon as I sit back down Their back again. Being a bachelor it's nice haveing them around for company.

Cookout

Brat's, potato salad and beans was the menu for today.I fired up the grill and invited good friends over to help eat them. Suprizing how many showed up. There were even a few that weren't invited. How did that happen, I'm not sure but thankfully there was enough of everything to go around. Maybe the brews ran a little on the short side but thanks to a couple volenteers that problem was soon taken care of. I really have to say that a good time was had by all. Of course there was one or two who had a better time than the rest.

Where did the day go? I was sitting watching a comedy show and for a change it was really funny. I mean to say that they all are funny but this one was really funny with a woman comediene leading the way. She had one on the funniest acts I've seen In a Very long time. Lifes Displeasures

I recieved an email from a major oil company telling me I won $150 in gasoline in their Fuel Good Sweepstakes. I can't tell you how happy I was since I live on a very limited income and gas is a luxury. They said I should recieve a card for the gas in the mail real soon. I could hardly wait to fill up my van when the card arrives. When I was at one of the stations owned buying $10 worth I commented on winning the gas card. The station manager told me that the company in charge of the drawing had a computer go haywire and sent out a whole lot of phony emails and mine was one of them. After I checked with the company headquarters I guess i got the shaft instead of gas. So that means my poor van won't see a full tank of gas for another year.

What Is Happiness?

Happiness is the look on the local farmers faces after 2 1/2 inches of rain fell in the last few days. Everything was getting so dry around here that they were all worried about the corn ears filling out. The stalks are tall and syrong but without full kernals on those ears the crop won't ammount to much. If we could get another 2 to 3 inches in the next few days or week it would help even more. I guess it all depends on who wants to pay the most for it. The alcohol plants or the feed mills will be happy but the little guy that pays double for eggs andmilk and meat will sing a different tune. Sombody has to pay the difference and it will be us in the end.

Well today the weatherman said the rain is done for a few days and I don't mind at all. With the high temps we've had the humidity was a killer especially for the ones of us that can't breathe good anyhow. How Do You Breathe

I don't know about you but 2 days ago I had the best breathing day in 6 months. The air was light and pollen count was down. Haveing resperatory problems I really have to work at just breathing most of the time. When the air is hot and humid my breather closes up and I puff and wheeze. Sometimes it's so loud people turn around thinking I'm whisteling. I'm glad the temps are down in the 80's and hope they don't get any hotter but we all know they will. That's Life.

Weather Again

Tomorrow

Well tomorrow is the big day in my town. They have the 4th of July parade and this years guests are Bill and Hillary Clinton. There will be such a mess downtown that i'm thinking about staying home and avoid the mess. The towns population is about 10,000 and tomorrow they expect 40,000 at least to be here. I don't walk well and don't need to be pushed all over the place.
