Strawberry Shortcake

We went out to this big farm that grows strawberries and many other fresh vegetables. We got a bunch of strawberries and came home and made strawberry shortcake with whipped cream and ice cream. It is just absolutely delicious. You could just eat and eat it, more than you probably should. However, the season isn't that long so you might as well enjoy them while you can.

New Great Grand Niece

This is my new little great grand niece. She is growing up so fast. I don't get to see these kids because they don't live close by. I have quite a few nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews too. I rarely get to see any of them and when I do they have grown and changed so much, I don't know them. I haven't seen her Dad, Ryan, in a long time either. Everyone has a lot of family they don't get a chance to visit with, don't they?

A Surprise Trip

Guest post written by Jean Sanders

All of my life, I've wanted to go to Europe and I think that my dreams are finally going to come true!! My husband came home the other night after a long day at work and took me out to a late dinner, where he told me that got us two tickets to fly overseas soon. We are going to take a tour, and I can't even describe how happy I was at the table tonight. That was a most incredible date, I must say. Since then, that's all I can think about! Can you blame me? I really don't know how I got this lucky. My husband and I were just talking about going somewhere now that it's a little warmer...I had no idea this was coming.

When I return from Europe, I guess we are going to have to get back into the swing of things around the house. We are talking about getting in contact with Home Pro Improvement and having some work done on the place before spring. But really...I can't believe this is happening to me!

Pretty Bubbles

I remember when we were kids and had a little jar of bubble stuff and used to try and make as many bubbles as we could. Now they have stuff to make big bubbles and as you can see here these little kids are having a great time chasing them. It is a beautiful summer day out and they can run barefoot in the grass and chase the bubbles. I bet they will sleep well tonight after all this fresh air and sunshine.

My Computer

The old computer has been giving me a fit with virus's and running slow. I found my virus program wasn't downloaded properly. Today we got it done right so I'm checking it out to see if it's better now. I sure hope it worked this time because it would be nice to have something go in my favor for a change.

Summertime In A Trailor Park.

If you're like me and live in a mobile home only half a block from a lake you'll know what I mean. People drive through all day looking for a trailor to buy. If it's not priced out of this world it will sell quickly. People buy them and come in every spring and summer and take over like they own it. Out of 50 or so units in the park only about 20 are year round tennants. The biggest thing we have to look forward to is Fall when they all leave and the park is quiet again. Winter isn't that great either because the guy that moves snow is 89 years old. His snow removal leaves a lot to be desired. But I'm retired so I don't have to go anywhere anyway.

New Laws

I've never been a fan of Iowa's Terry Branstad and after reading he changed the laws so gas stations can sell liquor in the store with the pop and beer I care even less. It's enough to have young kids stealing a beer or two when nobody is watching. Having to patrol the store all day so everything in the liquor aisle is accounted for. Having driven a semi for 50 years, I've seen young people shoplift cigarettes and other things at the smaller stations. Selling liquor will just be a pain for the station people and shouldn't happen at all. Sell your beer but leave the hard stuff in the liquor stores where it belongs.

Good Fishing Now

Real good fishing right now but it's to hot to be out on the water unless you want to burn up. The younger generation is laying out on the beach getting tans and us old people are staying in where it's cool. I really don't mind the heat as everyone thinks I should since I have emphasema and trouble breathing. Funny how it works - dry heat isn't as bad as high humidity and heat. It's the same way with the winters and cold weather. You just have to figure it out every day.

Cool Spell Coming

It's been in the 90's for a week and I mean high 90's. Tomorrow storms are moving in and they're saying 70's for next 4 days so it will be a welcome relief. What's funny is this is the first part of June not the middle of July or August when it's supposed to really be hot. That's what has me worried because if it's so hot now, the next month or two could be real killers for heat. It's too bad we can't bottle it for winter and save on the heat bill.

Topamax Lawsuit

If you ever had migraine headaches or epileptic seizures then you may have heard of Topamax. The main problem with it is if you're pregnant when you used it the side effects could be devastating. The bigger fear is of a cleft lip or pallet in the newborn child which would be very costly in medical care and treatment. This website Topamax lawsuit is the place to get more information about the lawsuit. O’Hanlon, McCollom & Demerath – Personal Injury Lawyers – 808 West Avenue, Austin, TX. 78701 – 512-494-9949 is the lawfirm with a staff well trained in these cases. This is another website you can check Topamax for information. If you have ever seen a baby or small child with a distorted face because of a cleft lip then you know what your reaction was. These birth defects have got to be stopped.

Record Breakers

WhenI say record breakers I'm talking about the weather. The last 2 days the record highs were broken that were set back in the early 1930's. We had one or two last week too and maybe more before the week is over. The temperatures are in the high 90's and even 100 in a few places. Thank GOD for AC or everyone would be in bad shape. If you are living where it's hot just try to stay cool and keep thinking it can't last forever.

Mowing's Done

The rain held off for 2 days and I got one lot mowed. Then after a light shower I waited until 11:00 with 70 degrees and wind blowing and got the other lot mowed. Now I can relax until next week and with no rain do it all again. At least I have a little something to do with the mowing. Pushing snow you have to have snow but in the summer you always have rain.
