Valentines Day

Look what my niece got for Valentines Day.  Her husband brought them to her at her job.  That was sure thoughtful.  I don't pay that much attention to Valentines Day.  It is nice for those who do.  I like to go out to eat with my friend or just have ice cream or something like that.  The weather was great for it.

Taco Johns

Tomorrow is Tuesday.  My sister is supposed to come over and we will go to Taco Johns for lunch.  They have the best Mexican food.  It is always good and hot and fast too.  We need to make a Christmas gift return for another size so will be going to a different Taco Johns in the next town.  I know the food is just as good and the same and look forward to it.  My sister likes to try all kinds  of new stuff and she seems to like it all.  I used to eat tacos all the time but have been trying their deluxe burrito and it is really good.

Baby pictures

It is too bad we don't stay cute like our baby pictures.  What a difference 76 years makes. I know I don't look anything like my baby pictures.   This is my older sister and this was taken probably 78 years ago as she is 79 now.  She put it on Facebook and one of her grandchildren put a picture of their 2nd little girl on Facebook too.  The baby looks just like my sister did when she was a baby.  It was amazing.  My sister told me she did it to see if any of the great grandchildren would look like her and the latest one does.  She has 13 great grandchildren and 14 grandchildren.

Kids

Kids can have fun anywhere any time. Here are my sister's great grandkids having a cold treat on a hot day. Their Mom made these popsicles at home with something new. I am told that you just pour in the mix and in a few minutes they are frozen. Wish we had something like that when we were kids. It is so easy.

Colorado Forest Fires

Here you see the forest fire that was just starting North of Ft. Collins, Colorado. It was just getting a good start and my niece took a picture. They were out in Estes Park for her son's wedding. He got married just in time as they saw some white smoke just beginning to come up out of the mountains as they went up to the wedding site. They wondered if it could be a fire and it sure was and it is a bad one. They can't seem to get it under control as there is so much wind and the wind blows the sparks. It's a real bad deal for all the folks losing their homes and lifetime investment in their homes for retirement.

Easter Sunday

Went to church this morning and had a great breakfast. Then we went on in to the church service. Lots of music. My daughter and her friends came too. After church we went out to her acreage and had a great ham dinner. Had carrot cake for dessert. Also had a great visit with everyone. It was so windy it was really something out in the country.

Christmas Pictures

Here is a picture of my sister and some of her family. Her family has really grown in the last few years. She has 14 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. But not only that but No. 13 is on the way for February and she just found out No. 14 is due close to her birthday in August. It would be neat if the baby was born on her birthday. It is possible.

Making Plans for Wedding

Pictured here is my sister and her grandson talking over his plans for his wedding next summer. It will be a neat wedding out in Colorado so will make a great trip for her to go to the wedding. She hasn't been out in the mountains for years and loves them. We have some friends and relatives living in Colorado but we never get out there. It is just too far to drive and I don't want to fly either so it is nice to for her to have her kids take her along with them. That way she doesn't have to either drive or fly.

Photographs

This is my sister, her husband and one of their twin daughters. They had been out to eat at a unique little restaurant. Afterwards, their daughter wanted a picture with them. Her husband took the pictures. My brother-in-law used to raise hogs so thought this was quite an appropriate background. The cameras today really take the best pictures don't they. It is fun to see new pictures.

New Great Grand Niece

This is my new little great grand niece. She is growing up so fast. I don't get to see these kids because they don't live close by. I have quite a few nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews too. I rarely get to see any of them and when I do they have grown and changed so much, I don't know them. I haven't seen her Dad, Ryan, in a long time either. Everyone has a lot of family they don't get a chance to visit with, don't they?

Spending time with friends and family in the Winter time has always been my favorite thing to do since I was a little girl. Today I'm off work, and it is snowing gently outside my window. I call up my two girlfriends, Hannah and Leanne. I ask them if they would like to go sledding down the big hill in my old neighborhood. We all grew up together and did this every winter. Even though we are in our late twenties now, we still love the adventure of going back to a place and time where everything was so simple. They agreed to meet me there. I grab my sled from the garage and load it into my car. I remember I need to set my home security alarm (ADT PULSE), so I run back inside and turn it on. I then jump in my car and go meet the girls on the hill. We have an amazing time taking turns sledding down the hill then running up and doing it again. When we get tired, we all decide to go have a cup of coffee at Hannah's house and watch a movie. I'd have to say this was a wonderful winter day with great friends and memories.

Growing Up

Here is my little nephew looking out the window to see the snow. He hasn't been walking very long but he sure knows how to get around the house. He is a climber and climbs up on everything. His Mom has to keep a very careful eye on him as she never knows what he is going to do next. Right now he is content to look out the window and watch the snow fall. We are going to have some more so there will be more for him to watch.

Neighbors

Ran into an old neighbor yesterday. It was funny because my sister parked right in front of us. We were so surprised to see each other too. My old neighbor said she didn't know I had a sister and asked where she lives. I told my sister this gal used to live by us before we moved our mobilehome. My sister is living in that mobilehome now. She really likes it.

School Uniform Shopping Time

So the new school is asking that the kids adhere to this strict dress code. No shirts with graphics or slogans, no glitter, rhinestones, fringes or other sparkly stuff will be allowed either. My kids don't normally go to school dressed like strippers but most of their shirts do have stuff on them so now I have to buy a whole new wardrobe for each of them.
I think that I am going to go with a bunch of school uniform style clothing. Simple white or blue shirts for the boys with khaki shorts for the summer and long khaki pants for the winter. For my two girls I have found some simple one piece dresses at target.com that look great and are made out of decent material. Sure, they will be wearing the same outfits 5 or 6 times a month, but it means I won't be getting any nasty notes sent home from school! Glad I got that hughes net new yorkconnection last month, doing all this shopping on the hughes net internet over dial-up was taking forever.
Kaylie (my youngest at only 7 years old) is pretty excited though. She loves to shop at childrensplace.com, they have lots of bright colored clothing for decent prices. I personally prefer target.com cause their clothes are more of what I like to see my daughters in.
